Elder Derrick McQueen

Assistant Pastor

Elder Derrick R. McQueen considers himself a servant leader.  He has served faithfully in the church and community.  Elder McQueen is a man of great spiritual conviction who has a passion for helping others achieve their goals.

Born in Bennettsville, South Carolina, Elder McQueen is married to Colleen Martin McQueen of Bronx, New York.  He has been privileged to be a servant in the kingdom for many years, notably as a Youth Pastor and currently as Assistant Pastor of Freedom Temple Ministries under the Episcopal Leadership of Bishop Herbert C. Crump, Jr. In addition to his role as pastor, Elder McQueen has also been inspired to write kingdom music and has released a single entitled “One More Day” with Derrick R. McQueen and Co.

Elder McQueen attended the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg.  He received a Bachelor of Religious Studies with a focus in Biblical Studies from WL Bonner College in 2001. He was inducted into the Bonner College Hall of Fame in 2020. His past experience includes serving as the Community Development Coordinator for the South Carolina Primary Health Care Association where he served as liaison to the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives.  His education has also opened doors in marketplace ministry exemplified by his current position as a Vice President with Wells Fargo Bank.

Ministry has also afforded Elder McQueen the opportunity to serve in other countries including Guyana, Barbados, and the Bahamas as a delegate of Mount Calvary Holy Church of America, Inc.

His concern for the problems of our communities is expressed not only in word, but also through deed. His life’s work and purpose is driven by a desire to one day hear the words “well done my good and faithful servant.”
