Elder Derrick R. McQueen considers himself a servant leader. Known for his service to the church and community, his heartfelt efforts have made an impact throughout various parts of the nation. He is a man of great spiritual conviction who has a passion for helping others achieve their goals.
Born in Bennettsville, South Carolina, Elder McQueen is married to Colleen Martin McQueen of Bronx, New York. He is a son of The Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ and has been privileged to be a member and servant of Solomon’s Temple in Detroit, MI, Refuge Temple, Jackson, MS, Refuge Temple, Columbia, SC (Youth Pastor for five years), The Living Church in Charlotte, NC, and now Freedom Temple Ministries, Rock Hill, SC.
Elder McQueen attended the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg. He received a Bachelor of Religious Studies with a focus in Biblical Studies from WL Bonner College in 2001. He is currently employed with Wells Fargo in Fort Mill, SC as an Assistant Vice President in Default Operations. His past experience also includes serving as the Community Development Coordinator for the South Carolina Primary Health Care Association where he performed duties such as liaison to the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives.
His concern for the problems of our communities is expressed not only in word, but also through deed. His life’s work and purpose is driven by a desire to one day hear the words “well done my good and faithful servant”.
