Melvin Poole is a native of Darlington, South Carolina, and resides in Rock Hill where he has lived for more than thirty years. For many years, he worked in management with several major textile companies located in South and North Carolina, and Georgia. He is experienced in process improvements, cost analysis, and job layout.
For the last eighteen years, Mr. Poole has owned PB Tax and Bookkeeping on Saluda Street in Rock Hill. His business specializes in tax preparation and bookkeeping for individuals and small businesses. Mr. Poole is certified as an Enrolled Agent and can represent clients before the Internal Revenue Service and SC State Department of Revenue. He is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents and National Association of Tax Professionals. Mr. Poole is also an accomplished photographer who has photographed more than one-thousand weddings in South Carolina and the neighboring states.
Mr. Poole has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Francis Marion University in Florence, South Carolina, where he was selected distinguished alumnus in 1996. He later received a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina.
Mr. Poole is a veteran of the United States Air Force serving four years, including a tour in Southeast Asia. He was awarded the Air Force Commendation and Vietnam Service and Behavior medals for his service during his campaign. He obtained the rank of sergeant while serving in the military. Mr. Poole currently serves as the Senior Vice Commander for Gray Cockerell VFW Post 3746 in Rock Hill and is a life member of the organization. He is also a life member of the NAACP and served as president of the Rock Hill Branch for six years.
Melvin Poole is a member of Freedom Temple Ministries in Rock Hill and serves as the Chief Financial Officer for the church. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Rock Hill Rotary Club. Mr. Poole is married to Brenda Frazier of Society Hill, South Carolina, who is a retired teacher in the Rock Hill School District. He and Brenda have two daughters, Kavita and Vachelle.
